Time and Decisions

Time comes at the same pace for everybody. 24 hours a day, 60 minutes an hour, 60 seconds a minute. Time is a currency that we take for granted because of the way in which it comes, automatically, because we exist. We wake up and it’s there. Choosing where to spend our time is up to us. We use this currency to buy memories, consequences, regrets, and triumphs.

After assessing where the program needs to be and how much time I choose to give the program, I have decided that the program will be better under someone else’s care. This was not an easy decision for me, but it is the right one.

After our last game I had an overwhelming feeling of my inadequacy as a coach. I haven’t been able to bring the program to the heights I had envisioned, nor had the success I had imagined. However, I do think that my time coaching was time well spent. I learned a lot, have incredible memories, new friendships, some regrets, and the satisfaction of giving of myself so others can benefit.

I have learned a lot about myself throughout these last five years. The wise Ghandi once said that the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. I hope you as players take the opportunity to serve your community, family, friends, classmates, and coworkers. No matter what the outcome, you will have used your time in a very fulfilling way, and the world will be that much better.

Thank you parents for your help and support. Thank you players for doing your best. I’m honored to be a part of your life and hope to be able to continue to benefit you in any way I can.
Thanks for spending your precious time with me.

Love,
Coach Taylor and Dresden
